The following project is an idealistic proposal that can serve as inspiration for future single-family housing neighbourhoods.
THE WHOLE
Bredekærs Vænge is arranged in a way that allows space to be returned to nature. This is done concretely by relocating car traffic to the edge zone of the neighbourhood and removing the asphalted road within the neighbourhood. The former main road is transformed into a green park strip.

THE CLUSTER
Property boundaries are merged, creating shared plots of 4 or 6 units. The gardens are planned to include both private and communal areas without hard boundaries such as fences. Sedum roofs are added to the houses when roofs need replacing to facilitate slow infiltration of rainwater. Carports are converted into shared facilities such as tool sheds and workshops.

THE HOUSE
The houses are divided to accommodate a variety of housing needs, including senior living communities, youth housing, multi-generational homes, and space for families with children. This way, more people live in less space but are more communal.

COMMERCIAL
Five new commercial spaces are distributed throughout the neighborhood along the green park strip. The businesses are selected to be: a bike repair shop, bakery, convenience store/parcel service, a dining establishment, and a medical clinic. These businesses create new meeting places in the area and should face openly towards the new green park strip.
