A COMMUNITY IN A SMALL SPACE
Access to the residence is via the existing staircase, leading to an outdoor walkway and into the home. Drawing inspiration from 20th-century living on limited square footage, we have created a residence of approximately 45 square meters that can accommodate four residents. Despite the small size, a high ceiling ensures comfort, and the interior consisting of plywood makes the space feel larger. Integrated storage allows for minimalist and simple living. The residence consists of a large communal area with a dining area and living room, with the north facade divided into small niches for study, kitchen, and toilet/bathroom. The individual bedrooms consist of alcoves, positioned as lofts above the communal areas. Each resident has a built-in closet and bed, with views of the treetops and city life.

AN ARTISTIC OASIS IN AN URBAN CONTEXT
Adelgade 4 stands out as a green spot on the map of Copenhagen in an otherwise densely populated neighborhood. In this project, it has been particularly important to preserve the tree and create a haven of tranquility amidst the city's hustle and bustle. By placing the project at one-and-a-half stories high, an inner courtyard is created where temporary art installations can be exhibited, and the city's residents can admire the remnants of the old half-timbered houses without disturbing the residents. The project is a reinterpretation of the old half-timbered house and spans between the two existing buildings with the help of a concrete deck on which a wooden structure rests. By preserving the gate facing the street, there is the possibility of partially opening it during the day for passersby and traffic, and closing it at night. Around the existing gate, climbing plants are planted to shield from the city's traffic noise and create a sense of calm and immersion in the artistic space.
